Despite various reports to the contrary Andy Walker isn’t banned from Celtic Park.

Last season the former Celtic striker was denied access to Ibrox for a Glasgow derby but Sky Sports refused to comment on the matter.

Soon after it was claimed that he was also banned from Celtic Park but the last Celtic match covered live by Sky Sports before last night was the 1-1 Glasgow derby on March 21. Walker and Ally McCoist joined Ian Crocker in the commentary box in an empty stadium.

Last night Sky Sports were back at Celtic Park with Crocker and Walker in the commentary box, Eilidh Barbour was joined in the studio by Stan Petrov, Christophe Berra and Kris Boyd.

Football banning has been a hot topic in Scottish football recently with Chris Sutton and Neil Lennon refused access to Ibrox to work for BT Sport.

Despite reports there is clearly no ban on Walker by Celtic.

On May 3 The Sun reported:

FORMER Celtic striker Andy Walker is at the centre of a bitter Old Firm rammy – banned from Ibrox AND Parkhead.

SunSport understands Sky Sports pundit Walker has been told to stay away by livid Rangers after criticising the club’s finances on air.

And it’s now emerged he’s also persona non grata at the very ground he made his name and was a centenary Double winning hero.

Celtic are believed to still be furious over Walker’s outspoken criticism of their controversial trip to Dubai in January for a winter training camp.

We can reveal the stunned 56-year-old – one of Sky Sports’ leading commentators on Scottish football since 2009 – has turned to lawyers over his situation.

Sky – who pour £25million a year into the SPFL for coverage of the Premiership – have yet to make comment.

Just last week, on November 26, covering an episode of Inside Scottish Football on BT Sport, The Sun reported Ally McCoist saying:

In all seriousness guys, Chris banned from Ibrox, Andy Walker banned from Celtic Park, Kris Boyd banned from Dundee.

The only thing that surprised me is the email arrived on time to ban Kris Boyd but in all seriousness, can we stop the pettiness and just get on with the football and let people into games. I’ve got it off my chest.

Sky Sports will cover Dundee United v Celtic on Sunday from Tannadice.
