Joey Dawson took his goal tally for the season to seven with a double as Celtic’s B side defeated East Kilbride 3-0 on Tuesday night.
The stats aren’t earthshattering but both goals were impressively taken as Celtic’s passing game unpicked the home defence.
While clearly on a different level it was the sort of finishing that Ange Postecoglou could have used against St Mirren the following night.
Dawson has missed quite a few matches through injury but was involved with the first team squad alongside Owen Moffat in the build up to the recent win over Motherwell on the back of injuries to Albian Ajeti and Kyogo Furuhashi.
Celtic’s B team are now on a six-match winning run in the Lowland League with Dawson’s physical presence proving to be the perfect compliment to the slick passing game that Tommy McIntyre’s side are using against older, more street-wise opponents.
