Turkish sides Hatayspor and Alanyaspor are reported to be in discussions with Scott Arfield over a move to Turkey.
The midfielder is out of contract at the end of the season but there is a suggestion in a Turkish website that he can leave for free during the January transfer window.
Ross Wilson failed to move any players on during the summer window but appears to be on a major cost cutting exercise this month.
Nathan Patterson’s wages won’t represent much of a saving but with Jermain Defoe ditched and reports of interest in Jack Simpson and John Lundstrum the wage bill could be looking much leaner by the end of the month.
Turkish site Haberabi reports:
The interim transfer window has officially opened. While many clubs strengthen their staff with reinforcements, some clubs still continue their transfer efforts. Two of those teams, Alanyaspor and Hatayspor, are vying to sign Scott Arfield, a Glasgow Rangers midfielder.
Both Mediterranean teams started negotiations for the 33-year-old football player. The experienced football player, whose contract will expire at the end of the season, has the right to go to a club of his choice free of charge during the halftime period, as he has an option in his contract with the Scottish club. Both clubs want Arfield because he is free of charge, has experience and is the name they are looking for.
Steven Davis, Allan McGregor, Jon McLaughlin, Conor Goldson and Leon Balogun are all out of contract at the end of this season with no reports of fresh deals being offered.
