Chris Jullien has dropped a strong hint that he is about to end his year long exile from the Celtic side.

The defender collided with a goalpost in the final match of 2020, after undergoing knee surgery he missed the whole of 2021 and only resumed full training when Celtic returned to Lennoxtown following the winter break.

Tomorrow’s Scottish Cup tie at Alloa would seem to be the ideal opportunity to get Jullien back playing but the plastic surface could be a concern although hopefully it won’t be the toughest of tests for Celtic defenders.

Jullien will find a much changed Celtic side from the one that he last played in, Callum McGregor, James Forrest, Tom Rogic and Greg Taylor are the only players that he will have played with on a regular basis.

Carl Starfelt and Cameron Carter-Vickers have established themselves as the first choice central defenders but with two matches a week through into March there are bound to be times when Ange Postecoglou wants to freshen up his side.
