Brody Paterson has joined Airdrie on loan until the end of the season- switching the Penny Cars Stadium on Lowland League duty for a promotion battle from League One.

Last season the 20-year-old made 14 appearances on loan at Queens Park as he helped the spiders to promotion from League Two.

Paterson can play at left-back or in central defence, with Bosun Lawal out injured he has skippered the Celtic B team in the Lowland League.

The loan bhoy went straight into the Airdrie squad for tonight’s League One match at home to Clyde.

Kerr McInroy was out on loan at Airdrie in the first half of the season in a move that seemed to suit both the player and the club as they pushed into the play-off places behind Cove Rangers.

Paterson is the first player from the B squad to go out on loan with a balance required between pushing players up a level or two while maintaining some continuity in the Lowland League.
