Chris Sutton has doubled down on his praise for Cameron Carter-Vickers, claiming that the on loan Spurs man is the best central defender in Scotland.
The former Celtic and Chelsea striker was discussing Ange Postecoglou’s transfer activity on BT Sport tonight when the subject of Carter-Vickers and Jota came up.
Sutton believes that permanent deals for both players would be outstanding business which prompted Ally McCoist from his slumbers.
According to the wise-cracking former Scotland striker Carter-Vickers has been no better than OK despite helping Celtic to the first trophy of the season with the best defensive record in the SPFL Premiership.
Carter Vickers has been the best centre back in the league this season. Celtic the best defence in the league this season. Ally is upset as Goldson has had his head turned… another one who wants away… https://t.co/cGqB261txC

There has been speculation of talks with Spurs and Benfica over Carter-Vickers and Jota over permanent deals but Postecoglou wasn’t adding any detail during yesterday’s media conference.
In 20 SPFL Premiership matches Celtic have only lost 12 goals, since joining from Spurs at the end of August Carter-Vickers has played in all but two of Celtic’s matches, one of them through a UEFA suspension.
