Hibs are reported to have turned down a £2m bid for Martin Boyle.

The winger has been in impressive form this season with 16 goals at the halfway stage of the season including a hat-trick in the semi-final of the League Cup.

Over the last fortnight there has been strong speculation about interest from Celtic but nothing concrete from either club, Boyle has been linked with a move to the hoops since Neil Lennon’s time as manager.

Turning down £2m for a 28-year-old is a bold move from Hibs with the former Dundee winger reported to be interested in discussing terms with the Saudi club.

Next Monday Hibs visit Celtic as the SPFL Premiership returns with Boyle likely to be in the spotlight.

The Australian internationalist has had two lengthy injury lay-offs in the last three years, with a reported salary of £1m a year on offer from Al-Faisaly it will take exceptional concentration to put that sort of money to the back of your mind.
