Ange Postecoglou made it crystal clear that there won’t be any new Celtic signings coming in to face Hibs on Monday.
The Celtic boss was down to the bare bones of a squad for the December 26 match against St Johnstone with Joey Dawson, Ben Doak and Ryan Mullen named among the substitutes.
Half a dozen or more players that missed the final match of 2021 will be available when Hibs come first footing on Monday with three new signings from the J-League in line for their debuts.
Riley McGree was a genuine transfer target but other than that Postecoglou was very dismissive of the daily diet of transfer targets from Algeria and Iran to various European based players.

Unless something extraordinary comes along or something happens within the existing squad that means we need to move.
But as we speak right now there is no other offers or people that I’ve spoken to
So the 20 names that come out tomorrow are all lies or fabrications or people bored at home just Googling names and throwing them up there or agents trying to get a little bit of value for their client.
So I can’t be any clearer than that. The one thing that I won’t do is lie, there is no-one else that we are talking to, there are no other offers, no-one else that I’m showing interest in as we sit here today. If that changes then I’ll let you know.
With more than two weeks remaining of the transfer window there is still ample time for Celtic to bring in new signings but it looks like Postecoglou will be very selective after being forced to bring in 12 players during the summer window.
