Celtic’s social media team has dropped a very strong hint that Daizen Maeda will be involved in tonight’s match against Hibs.
With their first tweet of the day featured the distinctive face of the on loan Yokohama Marinos striker as hoops fans prepared for the first trip to Paradise in over a month.
Ange Postecoglou worked with Maeda in the J-League but had to bide his time before being reunited at Celtic with the striker the new signing that has attracted most attention.
You Tube clips have whetted the appetite while the short snappy answers given via an interpreter in his first club interview suggested that the 24-year-old is in Scotland with his business head on.
The condition of Kyogo Furuhashi’s hamstring injury seems to be the subject of wild speculation with the only certainty being that he won’t be facing Hibs tonight.
In other circumstances Shaun Maloney’s return to Celtic Park would have got star billing but the novelty of seeing signings completed at the start of the January window has certainly got the Celtic support in the mood for their first match of 2022.
