Juventus step up efforts to get Ramsay out as Ibrox talks continue

Juventus are prepared to pay the bulk of Aaron Ramsay’s wages if he can agree to move on this month.

The midfielder is widely reported to be getting paid £400,000/week following his Bosman move from Arsenal to Serie A.

Kemar Roofe and John Lundstram are believed to be picking up around £40,000 with talks underway to take Ramsay to Ibrox.

Sky Sports report:

Sky Sports News has been told Juventus are prepared to continue paying Ramsey’s high wages to facilitate a move. Sky in Italy have previously reported that Juve would pay only part of his wages.

It is understood any player being signed by Rangers would have to fit in with their wage structure.  The Wales midfielder has made only five appearances for Max Allegri’s side this season.

Ramsay has only played six minutes of first team football since the end of September, coming on as a late substitute against Zenit St Petersburg. It seems that Wolves, Crystal Palace and Burnley have dropped their interest in the injury prone 31-year-old.

With his contract running until May 2023 any move for Ramsay will be short term with the player returning to Italy in the summer.

Ramsay is a key figure in the Welsh international squad which is two play-off matches away from their first appearance at the World Cup Finals since 1958.
