There wasn’t much joy to share in the ‘Rangers TV’ studio after today’s 2-2 draw at home to Motherwell.

Neil McCann and Shelley Kerr were able to deliver their analysis of the match with Emma Dodds presenting the show as the home side blew the chance to cut the gap at the top of the SPFL down to a single point.

Dodds is certainly making a big impact in broadcasting, Premier Sport and BT Sport call on her presenting skills for their cup tie coverage despite the availability of more established faces such as David Tanner.

Presenting programmes for one particular club is by definition very restrictive. After a bad result you have to tread the line of not upsetting your employers while trying not to sugar-coat a deflating result to fans that have paid for the service.

Watching bears would be in no doubt about how Dodds and Kerr were feeling, McCann couldn’t provide much comfort by admitting that the linesman probably called it correctly when he flagged for offside against two Alfredo Morelos ‘goals’.
