There was one incident, late in the match at Easter Road that seemed to sum up the frustrations of Celtic’s afternoon in the capital.
A big punt up the park is no longer on the menu, even with 85 goal-less minutes on the clock but the passing game between defenders almost cost Celtic dearly.
Joe Hart had gone out of the penalty box to take a short free-kick. Carl Starfelt returned the pass to the keeper and suddenly Hibs sensed that their opponents passing game wasn’t as smooth as it should.
Awful to watch. Starfelt under no pressure takes a touch and then goes back to Hart.

Cameron Carter-Vickers also joined in, fortunately only a corner was conceded but time was lost as Celtic struggled to a goal-less draw.
Playing out from the back is the modern way, it almost often works, draws opponents in and creates space to break forward. There are times when it isn’t appropriate, after 86 minutes in a goalless draw is one of them.
