Both managers didn’t get treated the same- Stephen Glass makes controversial Ange Postecoglou claim

Stephen Glass has claimed that he was given different treatment to Ange Postecoglou after Celtic’s 3-2 win over Aberdeen at Pittodrie.

Willie Collum lost the plot in the second half with a serious of baffling decisions that put himself in the spotlight with both sets of fans critical of his performance.

Early in the second half the Lanarkshire based official decided to call play back for an Aberdeen free kick after Matty Kennedy had sent a shot wide of the Celtic goal.

From the free-kick Christian Ramirez equalised with Scott Brown using two hands to prevent Carl Starfelt closing down the Aberdeen striker.

Aberdeen seemed to enjoy the benefit of the doubt with every 50-50 decision but Celtic’s third goal seemed to upset the home contingent inside Pittodrie.

Liel Abada made his way outside the penalty box as Jota moved in the opposite direction to fire his shot past Gary Woods. Aberdeen players, management and fans claimed for something- offside or foul play but Collum and his assistant saw nothing wrong with the goal.

Speaking afterwards to the Daily Record, Glass said:

I come in and say it every week but don’t want to talk about referees. There are reasons you ask me these questions.

I was warned or told before the end of the game not to go on the pitch and speak to the referee. He didn’t tell two managers he told one. Maybe he has realised he has made a mistake.

The fourth official was told to tell us not to speak on the pitch after the game. Both managers didn’t get treated the same. Maybe there is a reason for that.

Craig Napier was the fourth official.

Last night’s defeat dropped Aberdeen into ninth place in the Premiership table but a win at home to St Johnstone on Tuesday would take them back into the top six.
