‘Broony being Broony’ ‘Synchronised blocking allowed of course’ ‘never knew this was Rugby’ Celtic fans slam Collum over Aberdeen goal

Not for the first time Willie Collum found himself in the centre of the post-match discussions after Celtic beat Aberdeen 3-2 at Pittodrie.

Celtic’s winning goal seemed to be the main issue for the media to discuss but it wasn’t too difficult to find fault with Aberdeen’s first goal from Christian Ramirez.

It was a well worked set-piece, clearly one that was rehearsed but the execution required foul play which the match referee or his assistant should have spotted.

With most of the players gathered around the six yard line Ramirez found himself in space as the ball was rolled his way. Carl Starfelt spotted the danger but with Scott Brown blocking his way then pushing the Swede over the Dons striker had plenty of time to place his shot in the net.

Brown was doing his job, he is a professional and if your team can gain any advantage you take it.

Unfortunately the incident escaped the attention of Collum, the goal changed the course of the game even though Celtic ran out winners with two more goals in quick succession.
