Chris Jullien has shared a ‘finally’ message from Instagram on his story after making his first appearance in over 13 months.

The defender was given a fantastic ovation when he replaced Cameron Carter-Vickers for the last 15 minutes of Celtic’s 4-0 Scottish Cup win over Raith Rovers.

In the final match of 2020 Jullien collided with a goalpost while clearing a shot off the line as Celtic defeated Dundee United 2-0. No one could have guessed that he would be out of action for so long- or the circumstances of his return.

While Jullien underwent his rehab the Celtic squad has been rebuilt. Stephen Welsh is still there but Jeremie Frimpong, Kris Ajer, Shane Duffy and Diego Laxalt are all playing elsewhere as Ange Postecoglou puts his stamp on the squad.

Cameron Carter-Vickers and Carl Starfelt are the men in possession of the central defensive places and look unlikely to be rotated.

Having returned to action Jullien now has to concern himself with winning a place back in the first XI which is more competitive than anything he has known since joining Celtic in the summer of 2019.
