Ally McCoist wasn’t in the mood to sugar-coat last night’s defeat for the club that he used to manage.

It is seven years since he walked away from the dug-out, with a diary packed of commentary and media appointments it is unlikely that he will be back any time soon.

Joining Andy Walker and Ian Crocker for last night’s derby clash he detected more than three points and bragging rights at stake.

Celtic moved to the top of the table but the style of their first half performance plus the momentum generated by going top of the table creates a very different script to that established over the last 15 months or so.

In October 2020 Neil Lennon’s side were unable to muster a shot on target in the first derby match of the season, under Ange Celtic and Celtic Park is a very different proposition as McCoist admitted as he reflected on the match.

The momentum is seriously with Celtic after tonight, Postecoglou has done a wonderful job so far. I can feel it, you come into the place, you see the players, you see the supporters. There is a momentum there, they are a group, they are pushing forward, they are happy with what is happening. Rangers have a fight on their hands.
