Hibs will find a familiar and unwelcome face waiting on them at Ibrox tonight- Nick Walsh.

Ryan Porteous will be especially wary of tonight’s referee, both of his career red cards have been delivered by the Bearsden based PE teacher in matches against the Ibrox club.

During the day Walsh will be in action at Boclair High Schoo.l, putting some Murray Park starlets through their paces then head home via Ibrox as he picks up another welcome match fee.

Back in August Hibs were looking good on a 1-0 lead when Walsh decided that a 30th minute challenge from Porteous on Joe Aribo was deserving of a straight red card.

Tonight will be Walsh’s 12th Premiership match of the season and his fifth involving the Ibrox club, his last match was on January 29 in the 3-3 draw away to Ross County.

Walsh has sent off three players in the Premiership this season with Stephen O’Donnell and Josh Ginnelly, as well as Porteous sent off in matches against the Ibrox club.

In November at the Celtic AGM Ian Bankier expressed deep concern about Walsh when he was asked about the incident involving Chris Kane and Cameron Carter-Vickers the previous month,

What’s new, we have been talking about this issue for a long time, all over our blogs and podcasts. Nothing is being done, no official response at all .
We’ll regret this if we don’t stop the Honest Mistakes,

Who cares, take care of business from our side, and we will be champions. Porteous is far to rash in his challenges, you should be highlighting that as well joe. The 2 red cards he got, were red cards, it’s as simple as that. Surely he not going to do it again tonight. Like a said, if we play like I know we can, from now untill end of season, then it don’t matter what happens elsewhere. As Ange says, we don’t pay attention to other teams, we concentrate on ourselves.

Editor: In only one fixture does Porteous get punished. Walsh didn’t see a red card when Kane booted CCV twice when he was on the ground or when Rooney stuck his elbow into Welsh’s jaw at Hampden. This isn’t about Porteous, it is about Walsh.
