Filip Helander has been left out of the Sevco squad to face Borussia Dortmund as concerns are raised about his fitness.Â
The injury prone defender underwent knee surgery in September and was expected to be back in action last month.Â
Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been forced to play Calvin Bassey in central defence alongside Connor Goldson although Leon Balogun did return from injury for the second half against Celtic.Â
Yesterday Helander’s name was missing from the 25 man squad registered with UEFA for the matches against Dortmund on February 17 and 24.Â
On December 24 the Glasgow Times reported van Bronckhorst saying:Â
Filip (Helander) has been back individually for a couple of weeks and hopefully after the break, he can join up with the group for training sessions.Â
Aaron Ramsey and Amad Diallo are both included in the squad, Jack Simpson, signed from Bournemouth last January remains out of contention.Â
