Willie Collum gets his SFA payback

After being forced out of the Glasgow Derby in midweek Willie Collum is getting his SFA reward with two high profile matches in the next four days.

The Derby match was due to be played on January 2 with Collum down to referee it. When the winter break was brought forward the Lanarkshire school-teacher was replaced by Bobby Madden, as ever no explanation was given with the East Kilbride based taking charge of Celtic for the sixth time this season.

After being snubbed in midweek Collum will revel in the attention of the Sky Sports cameras at Ibrox tomorrow, on Wednesday he is in for another big pay day plus expenses when he takes charge of the Aberdeen v Celtic fixture at Pittodrie.

In August 2015 Robbie Neilson revealed that he trained his players to play with 10 men ahead of matches refereed by Collum.

John Beaton won’t have much mileage to claim tomorrow when he referees Motherwell v Celtic- just 11 days after he was in the middle for Celtic’s 2-1 win over Hearts at Tynecastle.

Nick Walsh will be the referee on Wednesday when Hibs visit Ibrox. In over 100 appearances for the Edinburgh side Ryan Porteous has been sent off twice, both by Walsh in games against the Tribute Act.
