Video: Watch Mark McGhee’s angry reaction to Dundee fan’s selfie request

Mark McGhee was involved in another, thankfully brief, exchange with a fan today as Dundee crashed to a 4-0 home defeat from Livingston.

The former Motherwell manager left Scotland five years ago on the back on an angry confrontation with an Aberdeen fan after being sent from the dug-out during a defeat at Pittodrie.

Today’s incident wasn’t anywhere near as explosive but as Dundee try to justify their new manager to supporters it doesn’t present the best of images.

Replacing James McPake didn’t need justifying, it is a results driven business and despite his obvious passion for the club Dundee were isolated with St Johnstone in a relegation fight.

The timing and replacement however left a lot to be desired. Winning away to Hearts and at Peterhead in the Scottish Cup isn’t to be sniffed at but as quickly as McPake was being thanked for his services a former team-mate and long term friend of Gordon Strachan was taking over in the Manager’s Office.

After today’s results Dundee are seven points adrift of third bottom Ross County with six matches to go until the split.

Whether McGhee can rally the squadto a great escape is doubtful, the signs today are that the players are resigned for relegation with fans voting with their feet as their side trailed 3-0 today after 25 minutes.
