Ange Postecoglou is confident of having Jota and Liel Abada available to face Ross County on Saturday.
The wing pairing have been a key part of Celtic’s successes this season but when the team was announced at Dundee United last night neither player was included.
James Forrest knows the right-wing beat expertly in Scotland while Daizen Maeda filled in as a vey pacy and direct replacement for Jota on the other flank as Celtic won 3-0 to reach the semi-final of the Scottish Cup.
Picking up on Postecoglou’s pre-match interview with Radio Scotland, Football Scotland reports the Celtic boss saying:
Jota’s got a bit of a knock from the game at the weekend and tonight came just a bit too soon, but he’ll be alright for the weekend. Abada’s got an illness but he’ll be alright for the weekend as well. But they’re the only two.
Mikey Johnston and Karamoko Dembele made late appearances as substitutes but the return of Jota and Abada is likely to see them go straight into the side.
A win against Ross County on Saturday would put Celtic six points clear at the top of the SPFL Premiership with Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side facing Dundee at noon on Sunday.
