Celtic striker makes half hour international appearance

Giorgos Giakoumakis made a half hour appearance off the bench as Greece lost 1-0 away to Montenegro tonight.

The Celtic striker player 70 minutes of last week’s 1-0 win against Romania as new boss Gus Poyet took a look at his entire squad ahead of the June Nations League matches.

There are no suggestions of any injury for Giakoumakis which is the main issue for Celtic fans during international breaks. With 11 goals in 2022 the former VVV Venlo striker is expected to lead the Celtic attack at Ibrox on Sunday.

There shouldn’t be any travel problems returning to Glasgow tomorrow, giving the striker an evening at home before resuming club duties at Lennoxtown on Wednesday.

So far there has been no reports of Celtic players injured on international duty leaving the main fitness questions relating to Tom Rogic, Daizen Maeda and Kyogo Furuhashi.
