Mark Hateley has claimed that Dave King is the man to represent fans inside Ibrox.Â
The former England striker has backed various Ibrox regimes and been rewarded with a blazer and ambassador salary until he was ditched by Douglas Park.Â
Now on the outside looking in he is torn between backing all things Ibrox as he has for 30 years and looking after his own self-interests- cash.Â
King has been agitating against his former Blue Room colleagues with the Sydney Super Cup a convenient issue to attack the executive team that signed up for Ange’s Homecoming Tour.Â
Hateley, Richard Gough, Ally McCoist and Derek Johnstone were all marked absent from the weekend circus to mark the 10th anniversary of liquidation with the former Portsmouth and Coventry striker telling The Sun about the true blue credentials of Mister King.Â
They should be looked on as a major player in any football club, whether it’s AC Milan, Barcelona or Real Madrid, the fans are equally as important as companies who are paying you for a sponsorship or a partnership.Â
Dave King has always had the best intention for Rangers, and he knows what it is like to be the custodian of an institution.Â
You’re just caretakers, really — you’re looking after a football club and then you move on to somebody else.Â
Dave saw that it was time to move on, but he understands the fans, and a lot of ex-Rangers players would agree. The situation has not turned out well.Â
During King’s five years as chairman Club 1872 were carefully kept out of the Blue Room although they did come in useful to help buy out Mike Ashley’s shares.Â
With regular share issues Club 1872’s stake in the company has been reduced down to less than 5%.Â
Joe who really gives a monkeys about sevco or what happens to them the faster this corrupt club goes down the tubes the better.
