Josip Juranovic played the full 90 minutes as Croatia drew 1-1 with Slovenia yesterday in a friendly in Doja.

The Celtic defender played on the right of a five man midfield that was centered around Luca Mordric with Ivan Perisic playing on the left. Andrej Kramaric opened the scoring for Croatia in the 39th minute but Slovenia equalised late in the second half.

A few days in the sunshine of Qatar will provide Juranovic with a welcome contrast from training sessions at Lennoxtown.

After Tuesday’s friendly against Bulgaria he can return to prepare for the Glasgow derby which could have a vital bearing on how Celtic’s title challenge shapes up.

A run of 31 points from 11 matches has put Celtic into a very powerful position with seven matches left to play in the SPFL Premiership.

Yesterday’s friendly was cap number 17 for Juranovic who has played five full matches for Croatia this year as they topped their World Cup group ahead of Russia.
