Ange Postecoglou laughed his way through the Alan Brazil video clip but the Celtic boss has a serious message for the TalkSPORT host and other doubters.
Back in May Brazil couldn’t pronounce the name of the incoming Celtic boss as he chuckled away alongside Ally McCoist at the appointment.
It was rip roaring fun for the former Ipswich and Manchester United striker as he shared the airwaves with the failed former Ibrox boss as Celtic placed their trust in a manager that neither of them rated and had barely heard of.
Someone already on the UK managerial circuit would have been easier for the radio duo to discuss but 10 months down the line neither are laughing at the Greek-Australian.
Steven Gerrard has already packed his bags after a few months of facing Ange with pressure growing on Giovanni van Bronckhorst over a nine point domestic swing despite his progress in Europe.
Following on from an Australian TV appearance Postecoglou took part in Open Goal with the Daily Record reporting:
TalkSPORT host Brazil’s infamous remarks on learning Postecoglou needed UEFA clearance – when he insisted the appointment had to be a “wind-up” – were then played to the man himself on a recent Australian TV interview.
And asked if his on-air reaction was the first time he’d heard the Brazil’s thoughts on his appointment, Postecoglou told Open Goal : “Yeah. I remember Alan Brazil as a player. It one of those, I just kind of leave it at that level and he’s obviously doing a different role there.
“He’s got an opinion and that’s fine, that’s no problem to me. He’s obviously trying to make a bit of a statement. He made a statement and he’s got to live with that now.”
McCoist seems to have escaped scrutiny from the TalkSPORT giggle-athon.
