Robbie Keane has pulled out of the Leg Ends match at Ibrox tomorrow to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Rangers going into liquidation.

With the club refusing to pay Income Tax and National Insurance the club was put into administration before Her Majesty could call in the bill.

Four months later Her Majesty rejected a CVA and the club formed in 1873 or 1872 was put into liquidation- 140 years brought to an end with 276 creditors holding worthless invoices.

Bizarrely a Leg Ends fund raiser is being staged this weekend featuring stars like Pal Gascoigne, Kevin Kyle, Kris Boyd, Sasa Papac, Jonas Thern and Scot Nisbet with Keane originally selected for the International All Stars XI.

Updating the squad details the Tribute Act website announced:

Carlos Cuellar, Roberto Carlos, Ivan Córdoba and Robbie Keane are no longer part of the match squads however they have been replaced by Craig Moore, Ricardo Costa and Paulo Fonseca, with the full squads listed below.

That looks like four players out and three replacing them, more of the International All Stars are expected to pull out and be replaced by BBC Scotland pundits such as Richard Forster, Steven Thompson and Mark Hateley.

Ally McCoist won’t be taking any part in the weekend events. Tickets are still available for Saturday’s showpiece match.
