SFA hand favoured referee his fourth Celtic Park match of the season

Incredibly, Euan Anderson will referee his fifth Celtic match of the season when he takes charge of tomorrow’s home match against St Mirren.

The visit of the Paisley side is match 29 in the SPFL with the Clydebank based schoolteacher appearing to be something of a favourite for Celtic matches.

So far 17 referees have handled SPFL Premiership matches, on an even rota no-one would have been in charge of the hoops more than twice.

With Bobby Madden taking six Premiership matches two referees combined have been involved in 40% of Celtic’s SPFL matches.

Anderson was in charge of the opening home game of the season against Dundee, in September the away match at Livingston plus the December home win over Motherwell and January victory against Dundee United.

Since the match against Dundee United, where Nir Bitton was sent off, Anderson has only had one Premiership match, his last three fixtures have been at Inverness, Partick Thistle and Queens Park.

His only St Mirren match was the 1-1 home draw with Motherwell on February 1.
