The Penalty Double Standards of Scottish referees

As Tav penalty surges up the scoring charts the standards of Scottish refereeing comes into focus.

Not by BBC Scotland or the media, not by the SFA but by supporters able to edit together similar incidents with very different outcomes.

At Murray Park they seem to be working hard on winning penalties. Running at speed into the penalty box there is just one intention- find an outstretched led and leave the rest up to the referee.

Steven McLean, whose brother Brian is a former Murray Park starlet, has plenty of past convictions for giving decisions in the desired direction.

He knew the importance of reaching the cup semi-final draw, with a one goal lead at Dundee today he delivered the penalty required to confirm that place in the last four with Tav pen completing the job.
