Celtic Shared has issued a hard hitting statement about Celtic’s November trip to Australia to take part in a four-team tournament.Â
The club announced the trip at lunchtime today following social media rumours that a Glasgow Derby would be staged in Sydney ahead of the World Cup Finals in Qatar.Â
There were no details in the Celtic announcement about the November trip to Australia which suggests that a game against their city rivals could be on the cards. In July 2020 the two clubs took part in a four-team event in France that included matches against Nice and Lyon.Â
Although they never faced each other an agent clearly put the package together with the two Glasgow sides working closely on fixtures and scheduling.Â
This is another example of their refusal to engage with the fans. If they had, they’d have been told in no uncertain terms this was not a good idea. We’re now looking at more unnecessary distractions as we approach one of the tightest title races in years. Think again @CelticFC

It is clearly something that interests and excites the club executive more than supporters.Â
With the team flying high the club are in a strong position to try anything with supporters desperate for success but going out of their way to be associated with their friends at Ibrox on the other side of the world might just be a step too far for some fans to remain in the #celticfamily.Â

By all means DON’T go to Australia….until the season is over, at least, then go right ahead! However, under no circumstance should there be a game involving us and that disgrace of a klub in another country unless it’s a European final, which is simultaneously thankfully/regrettably highly unlikely at this time.
