Michael Mols has revealed that he switched the telly off at half-time during the last Glasgow derby.

Without a win in the fixture for two years Celtic turned the tables on their title rivals by going in at the interval with a 3-0 lead.

An early goal from Reo Hatate set the tone with a fifth minute opener but it was goals in the 42nd and 44th minutes from the Japanese midfielder and Liel Abada that decided the match.

Celtic cruised through the second half to a comfortable 3-0 win, took over at the top of the SPFL Premiership and haven’t looked back.

It was a painful experience for former Ibrox star Mols who told The Sun:

Will Rangers and Gio have learned from the Celtic Park game? I hope so! It was a difficult day for them but also for me.

I watched the game, but I could only watch halfway and then I stopped. It was hard to watch. Hopefully they are going to change it, and this time they have a chance.

Gio will have analysed that game and seen what went wrong and what went OK. He needs to work it out. That is what every manager does, and I think he will do that too. It is always massive at Rangers. Sunday means a lot, of course.

Celtic look like having the same squad that they had in February plus David Turnbull who returned after three months out in the 4-0 win over Ross County.

Whether they can repeat the tempo and tactics that blew away their opponents in February remains to be seen. A lunchtime kick off at Ibrox in April is very different from Celtic Park on a February evening- if Mols is switches off early Ange Postecoglou’s side will have taken a massive stride towards lifting the SPFL title.
