Ange Postecoglou has revealed that Kyogo Furuhashi has undergone the exact same training and preparations as the rest of the Celtic squad.

The striker has been in full training for the last three weeks and made a 20 minute appearance off the bench last Saturday against St Johnstone.

With Giorgos Giakoumakis unavailable Postecoglou will have to make at least one change for Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final after starting the same XI in each of the last three matches.

Kyogo’s return is one option, starting the former Vissel Kobe forward wouldn’t be an option if Giakoumakis was fit but a first start in almost four months can’t be completely dismissed:

Postecoglou told the Daily Record:

Giakoumakis’ prognosis wasn’t too bad. It was nothing serious but he’ll probably miss this weekend but we’re confident he’ll be available next week.”

David Turnbull is fine. He’s trained and James Forrest is also available. Kyogo trained well and did everything the boys have done. We have options – and we are going to need them.

Daizen Maeda playing through the centre with Liel Abada on the right wing seems the most obvious option open to Postecoglou although as he demonstrated at St Johnstone in December Abada can play effectively through the centre.

Scottish Cup ties allow nine substitutes to be used with the team news being announced at 12.45 tomorrow.
