Blame the schools- Ryan Jack collects the John Greig or John Grieg Acheivement Award

Ryan Jack was among the prizes last night as the Tribute Act staged their Player of the Year Awards.

The midfielder has had an injury interrupted season but surely deserved better than the John Greig ACHEIVEMENT AWARD.

A tweet celebrating the award was quickly deleted as some educated folk highlighted the sppeling mistook.

What the John Greig Award stands for is unclear but there are a range of possibilities such as

  1. Captaining the club while their city rivals won nine successive titles
  1. Being presented with a European trophy in a toilet in the Nou Camp
  1. Failing to defend the European trophy
  1. Surviving five years as manager without winning the Premier Division

At the age of 30 Jack will no doubt be very proud to have picked up such a prestigious honour.
