Celtic are reported to be showing interest in Dundee defender Luke Graham.

The 18-year-old is out on loan at junior side Lochee United which should certainly toughen him up for the senior game.

Graham is currently on trial with Sheffield United which suggests that Dundee are preparing for his departure.

Dundee’s Director of Football Gordon Strachan has very close links to Celtic but the current structure of the club makes it difficult for young players to break through into the top team.

The Dundee-based Courier reports:

Arsenal are keeping tabs on highly-rated Dundee kid Luke Graham.

The 18-year-old centre-back is fast becoming hot property after the Courier revealed he was heading south for a trial at Sheffield United.

The Perth kid joined up with the Blades this morning and will spend the week training with the English Championship side.

It’s understood he was also watched by an academy scout for English giants Arsenal while playing for Lochee United on Saturday.

And there were representatives from Rangers and Celtic at the clash with Letham at Seven Acres Park as well.

Celtic will play in next season’s Lowland League but after playing on loan at Lochee United Graham is likely to be looking to play senior next season.

Dundee look very likely to be returning to the Championship next season which could open the first team door to Graham but the lure of a sizeable transfer fee and contract could have a big influence on where the defender is next season.
