Celtic have again been linked with a summer move for Ola Solbakken.

The Bodo Gimt winger is out of contract at the end of the year and is expected to be sold off this summer on the back of his performances in the Europa Conference.

Over the last decade the Daily Mail has been the most reliable source of Celtic transfer news with the Daily Record reporting:

Bodo/Glimt star Ola Solbakken is reportedly a Celtic transfer target – IF the club are unable to strike a deal with Jota.

The Premiership leaders have an option to buy the Benfica winger when his loan ends this summer but a deal hinges on the 23-year-old agreeing a permanent move to Glasgow.

And the Daily Mail report Celtic have identified Solkbakken, whose contract expires at the end of December 2022, as an alternative.

He claimed a goal and assist across two legs as Bodo dumped Ange Postecoglou ‘s side out of the Europa Conference League earlier this season.

It’s been reported Celtic turned down the chance to sign the 23-year-old Norwegian last summer but it’s now claimed they will “rekindle” that interest if Jota decides against a return to Parkhead.

After an exceptional summer of transfer business last year Ange Postecoglou had the January window arranged well in advance, so far in advance that on December 31 three players were signed from the J-League with Matt O’Riley a ‘top up’ long before Deadline Day.

Should Celtic win the SPFL Premiership they are very likely to go straight into the group stage of the Champions League which would cut out the need to prepare for qualifiers from mid-July.

Solkbakken seems a very good fit for Postecoglou but there is likely to be other interest in the 23-year-old with Roma also reportedly keen.
