After coming off the bench to score against St Johnstone yesterday Liel Abada was treated to a trip to Manchester to watch the top two in the EPL go head to head.

Through the sixties, seventies and eighties there were Father & Son turnstiles to keep fans together before that notion gave way to Parent & Child.

Nir Bitton has been Abada’s mentor or ‘father-figure’ since he arrived in Glasgow last July with the two Celts heading down the M74 to watch a highly entertaining 2-2 that keeps Manchester City a point in front with seven matches to go.

Celtic have a healthier six point lead with five matches left to play, tomorrow Abada and Bitton should find out the post-split fixtures with a home derby clash expected in the first or second round of games.

If Celtic can maintain their winning run Abada and Bitton could be heading to Anfield or the Etihad next season on Champions League duty with the SPFL winners likely to get a direct place in the group stage of the competition.
