Flashback- Incredible Manchester City to Celtic picture uncovered

Celtic’s links with Manchester City down the years are fairly well known with one picture uncovered yesterday highlighting how far back the connection goes. 

In 2014 as Ronny Deila was putting together a squad bolstered by loanees John Guidetti was a Deadline Day signing with the striker getting off to flying start before things fizzled out. 

The Swede joined Manchester City straight from school, enjoyed an outstanding season on loan at Feyenoord but his City career consisted of just one League Cup appearance. 

Scott Sinclair fared a little better, starting three matches for City and making 13 appearances off the bench before being reunited with Brendan Rodgers to play a central role in delivering the Treble Treble. 

Joe Hart’s City career is far more substantial but after the Etihad it looked like he could slide into near oblivion until a call from Celtic last summer. 

Like Ange Postecoglou he seems to have found the perfect club, one that he feels very comfortable with as he catches up for lost time with every prospect of adding to his medal tally. 

The picture was likely taken at pre-season training in 2012 or 2013.
