Giakoumakis training images gives Celtic massive title boost

Giorgos Giakoumakis has been spotted on a training clip released by Celtic on Instagram today. 

The striker has been the club’s top goalscorer in 2022 but missed Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final due to injury. 

A hamstring problem was reported which can vary greatly in the timeline for recovery with David Turnbull and Kyogo Furuhashi both just back from three month absences. 

Giakoumakis suffered his injury soon after scoring against St Johnstone but it appears to have been caught at a very early stage. 

 

Kyogo was the focus of a social media Q and A with the footage used likely to be from training this week at Lennoxtown. 

Daizen Madea and Kyogo both had spells playing through the centre but if fit and available Giakoumakis is likely to go straight back into the side to face Ross County on Sunday in the first of five post-split fixtures.
