Green Brigade make Hampden statement

When Celtic last visited Hampden the Green Brigade paid a poignant tribute to Bertie Auld, a favourite of both sets of supporters as the hoops beat Hibs 2-1 to take the first trophy of the season.

Celtic will be back at the National Stadium this Sunday but there will be no orchestrated Tifo, for reasons that are unclear.

Over recent seasons Tifo has added to the sense of occasion at Hampden but on Sunday it will be business as usual as the two Glasgow clubs compete for a place in the final against Hearts or Hibs.

After the events of the recent Glasgow derby at Ibrox it is likely that the SFA are wishing to minimise the prospects of anyone taking offence to banners or Tifo displays.

Since the League Cup Final of December 2019 there hasn’t been more than 800 away fans at any Glasgow Derby, at Hampden both teams will be backed by 25,000 fans.
