Kris Commons expects Celtic to go for the jugular from the first whistle at Hampden on Sunday.

In the last two Derby clashes the home side has scored in the first five minutes but the Scottish Cup semi-final will be played on neutral territory.

Celtic head into Sunday’s match on the back of 15 wins and a draw in 16 domestic matches this year and buoyed by knocking seven past St Johnstone at the weekend.

Anyone that has tuned in to Ange Postecoglou’s media conferences will know that he isn’t for tinkering or adapting his style to cope with specific opponents.

Postecoglou can vary the intensity of Celtic’s attacking play, he showed that at Ibrox with Commons expecting a very fast start at Hampden on Sunday.

Picking up on his Daily Mail column, the Daily Record reports Commons saying:

Celtic are going for the Treble but they’re also going for a treble of wins over Rangers at Celtic Park, Ibrox and Hampden.

And they’ll be keeping half an eye on Rangers to see how much energy they expend against Braga in the Europa League on Thursday night.

If Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s men have a tough evening, Postecoglou might change his plans and really go for the jugular even more than normal. If Rangers play extra time, he may look at injecting extra pace in wide areas.

Ange has never been one for defending. He won’t be looking to creep over the line in the Scottish Cup either. He’ll be looking to blow Rangers away.

Looking to win emphatically with entertaining, attacking football in the Celtic tradition. And if Celtic can maintain their recent form, they should do that.

While Celtic have a full week of preparation their Scottish Cup opponents have a Europa League tie on Thursday to deal with.
