A report on Football Scotland has claimed that Josip Juranovic will struggle for fitness before mid-May.
The normal coverage would be ‘out of action’ with the full-back substituted during Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final at Hampden.
Tony Ralston is the natural cover for Juranovic but the Croatian can also play at left-back with no real alternative to Greg Taylor in the squad.
Without explaining what the actual injury is Football Scotland claims:
The Croatian defender has been in fine form for his club this season and has established himself as the top right-back option Ange Postecoglou has in his squad.
He was forced off in the Scottish Cup semi-final with injury against the Light Blues. And now Football Scotland understands the full-back will struggle for fitness before mid-May.
That means the 26-year-old will likely be missing for matches against Ross County, Gers, Hearts and potentially Dundee United on May 11.
Juranovic did miss a month of the season back in September that led to Adam Montgomery, Liam Scales and even Boli Bolingoli playing at left-back.
Ange Postecoglou will host a media conference tomorrow to preview Sunday’s match at Ross County with injury news normally the first question asked.
Giorgos Giakoumakis missed the Scottish Cup semi-final but seems to have taken part in training this week as Celtic prepare for their first post-split fixture.
