James Tavernier has called on the SPFL to shift fixtures to help his side in their Europa League semi-final against RB Leipzig.
Apparently Tav sees it happen in other leagues but refused to give any examples, similarly no specific request for any match to be moved has been made public.
On Sunday April 24 the Ibrox side are away to Motherwell, on Thursday the 28th they are away to RB Leipzig, face Celtic three days later on May 1 then Leipzig in the return leg on May 5, the sort of fixture list that they’ve been dealing with all season.
RB Leipzig have a similar run of fixtures but are getting on with it while the Ibrox club are giving a lead to their media apologists to revive the lies of 2008 when the SPL season finished on a Thursday night to accommodate a team that requested the postponement of a match against Gretna to give them 10 days to prepare for a 3-0 defeat at home to Lyon.
?? JT: We can request games to be moved but obviously it comes down to the league. You see it in other leagues.
It is a massive achievement to reach a European semi-final.

So far this season just one club has refused to be part of the SPFL’s Cinch sponsorship, no action, fines or punishments have been handed out over a dispute dating back to July.
