Since the final whistle blew at Hampden last Sunday the media narrative has been crystal clear.

Having been beaten domestically for the first time since September were Celtic about to crumble under the pressure in the run-in to the SPFL Premiership.

Ange Postecoglou’s media conference on Friday was dominated by the consequences of the defeat at Hampden with folk like Barry Ferguson desperate to see Celtic collapse.

Big moments and big performances- Joe Hart, 24 April

When Celtic visited Ross County in December it took a 97th minute header from Tony Ralston to secure the points. That game and the timing of the winning goal was constantly brought up last week, ignoring the fact that Celtic had crushed the Dingwall side 4-0 last month.

That December visit was without Kyogo Furuhashi, Jota and Giorgos Giakoumakis who were all available today plus three of Celtic’s January signings.

The hoops started the match with their lead cut down to three points but Kyogo Furuhashi’s 11th minute header cut the ice to give the visitors the lead.

There was a 75th minute wait for the second goal but during that period Joe Hart’s goal was well protected. When a chance fell to Jota he didn’t hesitate, allowing the last five minutes to be much less edgy.

At the far end the Celtic keeper realised the importance of the win, of Celtic can secure a victory in their next match they’ll have a nine point lead and 20 plus goal difference advantage to take into their last three matches.

With 24 wins and four draws from their last 28 SPFL matches it looks like Hart is close to adding an SPFL winners medal to his Manchester City collection.
