Memory Lane as former Celt tunes in to dramatic Ibrox win

Fraser Forster enjoyed a trip down Memory Lane on Sunday as he tuned in to Sunday’s action from Ibrox.

Back in September 2019 the big keeper was playing the second match of a loan spell at Celtic as Neil Lennon took a new look defence to Ibrox.

Hatem Abd Elhamed and Boli Bolingoli probably played their best ever Celtic matches at full-back, in central defence Nir Bitton and Chris Jullien looked like they had played together for years.

Forster enjoyed a clean sheet as 700 Celtic fans celebrated goals from Odsonne Edouard and Johnny Hayes.

Most of the names on the Celtic team-sheet had changed but there was a familiar feeling of satisfaction for the fans watching on telly, including the Southampton keeper who is back in the England squad.

I did watch it, I watch all of them. I loved my time at Celtic and I will be a supporter for life. It’s a huge result.

They showed character to come away with the three points. It’s the same as ever at the top of the league, it isn’t over until it’s over.

It will be an interesting run-in with plenty of points to play for. There’s one more Old Firm and there is a lot of work to do to get that title over the line.

It’s a massive result, especially at Ibrox. It gives massive confidence for the Celtic lads and hopefully it kicks them on.

Forster is out of contract at the end of the season but a fifth move to Celtic- three loans and one permanent deal- looks unlikely with Joe Hart resolving last season’s problems.
