Graham Alexander has hit out at the SPFL, claiming that Motherwell were forgotten about as they shifted the fixture card to suit Giovanni van Bronckhorst.Â
Last Friday the Ibrox club requested that their match with Motherwell on Sunday was brought forward 24 hours to give them extra time to prepare to face RB Leipzig.Â
Motherwell had no objection to the move but as Alexander made his plans for the week it wasn’t until late on Tuesday afternoon that they were contacted with the switch confirmed.Â
Preparations and training for a Saturday are different to a Sunday match with the Fir Parkers left on the outside as the SPFL moved to deal with the Ibrox request.Â
Alexander told the Daily Record:Â
The delay in the decision is the thing that frustrates me and us at Motherwell. Our first communication was last Friday morning and we understood all the opinions of Rangers, the league, the police, this, that and the other and we said if it was for the benefit for everyone we could go with it.Â
But we wanted a decision so we could organise our training week differently because obviously it was all geared up for a Sunday game.Â
We didn’t find out that it was going to be a Saturday game until late afternoon on Tuesday which is not good really to be fair.
We still trained but to take that long – I know there is different factors and we have to understand all the different issues around changing a fixture – but I don’t think it should take four or five days to do that.Â
So apart from that I think it is the right thing to do. There are bigger problems to overcome but I just felt we were left to the side, it was like it was all geared for other people apart from us.Â
Motherwell have drawn twice at Ibrox this season but were well beaten at home in October. Nick Walsh was in charge of the earlier Fir Park match and will be in charge again tomorrow.Â

No sympathy for Motherwell they should have told sevco to f**k off,but they didn’t and now sevco and the SPFL have basically shat all over Motherwell.
Ye sup with Devil, you accept their good manners.
To them you are a molecule of sheet, on a mud flap of a bus.
Insignificant.
Well said Scud.they deserve all they get as does every other club in the SPFL,they treat us like shit and the only club big enough to stand up against them ie Celtic we shite our selves,as you say we get what we and the corrupt Celtic board deserve.
Fixtures should not be altered excepting weather cancellations etc. To do so is to open the fixture card to abuse.
Well nothing really surprises me at corrupt hampden because sevco scotland tell the sfa.spfl what to do so when are the fans gonnae wake up especially us celtic fans we need a new board asp because theirs to many cowards on honestand ive got a feeling mr clancy will make sure we drop points today to help the cheating liebrox club just watch this something isn’t right at paradise aswell.
