SFA appoint one win in four matches referee for Celtic’s match at Ross County

Kevin Clancy will referee Celtic for the fifth time in the SPFL this season when he takes charge of Sunday’s match at Ross County.

Ange Postecoglou’s side managed to beat Aberdeen at home in November after Clancy had awarded the Dons a penalty.

In August Clancy was in charge for the Glasgow Derby defeat at Ibrox, four weeks later he refereed the 1-1 home draw with Dundee United with his only match of 2022 seeing the hoops draw 0-0 away to Hibs.

With five matches left to play Celtic currently have a six point lead in the SPFL title race but that could be reduced by kick-off time on Sunday after the SPFL decided to bring forward Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s trip to Motherwell by 24 hours.

Celtic picked up a couple of injuries during Sunday’s Scottish Cup semi-final which is likely to impact on Ange Postecoglou’s plans for the Ross County match.

On March 19 Celtic beat Ross County 4-0 at home, Giorgos Giakoumakis scored a hat-trick in that match but missed the semi-final due to injury.
