John Fleck and Wes Foderingham are both on the payroll at Sheffield United, every month they pick up wages made up of basic, appearance money and bonuses.

Football is a team sport. To increase bonding, togetherness and team spirit before kick-off the Sheffield United players go into a huddle, something that a number of clubs do.

For Fleck and Foderingham however the Sheffield United huddle is out of bounds. When their team-mates get together other thoughts come into their mind.

Ten years ago Fleck refused to TUPE over to the new club at Ibrox founded by Charles Green.

Foderingham was a Mark Warburton signing, a journeyman known as League One Wes, he made 112 league appearances for the Tribute Act before leaving on a Bosman. Some Celtic fans may remember him from the 5-1 matches at Celtic Park and Ibrox in season 2016/17.

Sheffield United are in sixth place in the Championship, maintaining that position will give them a play-off position. Football is often decided by small margins with two of the Sheffield United players so obsessed by a previous club that they won’t huddle with their team-mates before going out to play for points and bonus money.
