This is the greatest dive Scottish football has ever seen- Charlie Adam take a bow

Charlie Adam likes to share his opinions on most football matters, for some reason a variety of media outlets value his thoughts and opinion. 

The BBC, both in Scotland and in England, seemed especially keen to get the thoughts of the chunky midfielder, mainly based around one season at Liverpool followed by seven at Stoke City. 

His work with the BBC came to a halt at the turn of the year when he picked up a one year driving ban after he was found to be twice the legal limit following a boozy night out in December. 

The Daily Record reported Fiscal Depute Rachel Hill telling the court: 

At approximately 4.30 am police spotted a stationary vehicle on the side of the road and observed the accused in the driver’s seat, on his mobile phone. 

Damage was observed to the front nearside tyre and panel of the vehicle. Officers made the vehicle safe. He initially stated he had a tyre blow-out. 

Further officers were requested to attend to assist with inquiries. The accused was required to identify the driver and replied: ‘It was me.’ 

He was asked to give a specimen of breath at the roadside and agreed to do so. The procedure was carried out and he made no reply to caution and charge. 

Yesterday, with Dundee staring at relegation back to the Championship Adam tried to cheat St Johnstone with an outrageous dive. 

Perhaps it was a combination of the pressure of the relegation battle, a hot sunny day in Dundee or other factors but he dived to get a professional footballer booked. 

Fortunately, in a gesture that John Lundstram will appreciate, Bobby Madden took o action over the dive.
