Two faced McCoist accuses Celtic of coefficient treason

Ally McCoist has accused John Kennedy of co-efficient treason. 

Since last night’s victory for RB Leipzig in the semi-final of the Europa League the carefully cultivated good-guy mask of the former Rangers boss has slipped. 

Joining Alan Brazil on TalkSPORT this morning then Chris Sutton on BT Sport tonight was going to be a challenge just two days ahead of a possible Celtic title decider. 

Despite facing a Leipzig side missing their first choice central defensive partnership Giovanni van Bronckhorst opted to play without a striker with Scott Wright and Ryan Kent stuck on the flanks with no target to play towards. 

Last night could be looked on as an opportunity missed but rather than focus on those issues McCoist opted to turn on a Celtic coach holding discussions with a former team-mate, Leipzig assistant Andreas Hinkel. 

Picking up on his appearance on Scottish Football Extra tonight, Football Scotland reports McCoist saying 

Everybody in Scotland seems delighted with the coefficient, apart from John Kennedy, who is trying to lower the coefficient by all accounts. 

Andreas Hinkel phones him and says ‘what about that Rangers?’ and John says ‘oh I’ll give you all the information you want Andreas, you are from Germany, have all the information on Rangers, that will really help the coefficient in Scotland’. 

What is going on with you lot [speaking to fellow pundit Chris Sutton]? It’s treason, treason I tell you. 

In 2013 McCoist was all over Antonio Conte when Juventus were given Murray Park to train at ahead of a Champions League tie against Celtic. 

McCoist managed in two UEFA matches while in charge of Rangers, losing to Malmo and Maribor in a season that ended in administration followed by liquidation.
