UEFA hit Old Firm FC with two more fines

UEFA have handed out fines totalling £38,902 to The Tribute Act following the Europa League ties against Braga.

The life threatening pyro display by visiting fans in the first leg brought a fine of close to £30,000 with the remainder for the late kick off in the home leg.

Earlier this month the club was fined £30,000 for damage done to the Red Star Stadium in the Round of 16 tie. The same groups of supporters have been handed tickets for tonight’s match away to RB Leipzig.

The Daily Record reports:

Rangers have been fined £38,902 by UEFA following their Europa League tie with Braga.

The Ibrox club copped two separate punishments in the wake of their quarter-final victory – £30,000 for fans letting off flares and a further £8000 over late kick-off.

Similar incidents during a last 16 clash with Red Star Belgrade also brought financial penalties earlier in April, making it the second time in a matter of weeks Rangers have been rapped by European football’s governing body.

Earlier this season the Danish police had to draw batons to deal with Ibrox fans attending the group match away to Brondby. On Sunday 700 Ibrox fans will be allowed to watch their side take on Celtic in the Glasgow Derby.
