Celtic moved NINE points clear at the top of the SPFL Premiership with an emphatic 4-1 win over Hearts at lunchtime today.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s side still have three matches left to play but a goal difference deficit of 22 the trophy is on its way back to Celtic Park.

After losing three of their first six SPFL fixtures Ange Postecoglou’s side have notched up 25 wins and five draws to blow away the opposition.

Ellis Sims gave the home fans a third minute warning when he opened the scoring but by half-time Daizen Maeda and Kyogo Furuhashi had put the hoops in front.

Matt O’Riley put today’s match beyond Hearts with a goal in the 68th minute with substitute Giorgos Giakoumakis finishing the scoring in the 90th minute.

If Dundee United take anything from Ibrox tomorrow the title will be officially over, failing that a point at Tannadice on Wednesday delivers Celtic’s 10th title in 11 seasons.
